Dwayne Johnson Claps Back at Tyrese Gibson Over “Fast and Furious 9” Feud
Update (10/9/17 at 12:14 p.m.):
Over the weekend, The Rock clapped back at Tyrese in the only way he knows how — with his muscle.
The Ballers actor threw some serious subshade at his costar in an Instagram post yesterday.
This came two days after Tyrese called him out over the delay of Fast and Furious 9.
In the video, Dwayne can be seen doing a gruelling workout with a heavy chain around his neck for extra weight!
When he's done, he turns to the camera and says, "When in work, big dogs eat. Little crying puppies stay on the porch."
BURN! Watch the epic video below.
Big dogs eat. As many of you know, it aint a size or gender thing...its a mentality thing. Shout to all my big dogs around the as were over here quietly on our weekend grind earning sweat equity. Because at the end of the day, were always willing to put in the raw hard work for the one thing we relentlessly chase daily - the results. Heavy ass chains around your neck are always optional. Have a hungry and productive week #HardestWorkersInTheRoom #BigDogsEat
Original story (10/6/17 at 1:11 p.m.):
Tyrese Gibson has added fuel to the fire in his ongoing feud with Fast and Furious co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The rapper and actor, along with Vin Diesel, has been warring with the Jumanji star over the movie franchise since the former wrestler slammed some unnamed co-stars on social media in 2016.
A good time shooting @instylemagazines MAN OF STYLE. Thank you so much to everyones effort in making the shoot a success. Style and sexy isnt a thing you try and do. Its a mindset. Dont try.. just be. Then randomly point at shit while seemingly in highly intellectualized thought. On newsstands this November. Photographer: @carterbedloesmith Ring: @DavidYurman
Now, following the news production of Fast and Furious 9 has been delayed until 2020, but a spin-off movie starring the Moana actor and Jason Statham is expected in 2019, Tyrese has slammed the star for making the franchise about him.
"#PSA Congratulations to @TheRockand your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the Fast and the Furious franchise about YOU [sic],” the 38-year-old wrote on Instagram.
“And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post — Gn folks see you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah..... it's about #TeamDewayne [sic]"
Tyrese also poked fun at the father of two’s Baywatch remake, which was a commercial flop.
"#3yrswill it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch? Guys guys just relax I'm just a passionate film critic [sic],” he continued.
Vin Diesel is also seemingly unhappy with the delayed production, as he took to Instagram to post a picture of himself with Tyrese and the late Paul Walker.
He captioned the photo, "Brotherhood..."
Tyrese then reposted the picture, and seemingly slammed the 45-year-old action star for going solo.
"#Repost #SwipeLeft — @VinDiesel — Never confuse determination with desperation..... What's understood don't have to be explained...... 44 million just got the memo,” he wrote.
“#FastFamily like I said we don't fly solo. President Obama's integrity teachings is of a man who makes everyone feel like they MATTER..... [sic]."
And the star didn't stop there, as he even took to Dwayne's own Instagram account to continue his rant in the comments of one of his posts.
"If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter,” Tyrese commented.
“I don't wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about — I'm on your timeline cause you're not responding to my text messages — #FastFamily is just that a family....... We don't fly solo [sic]."
The feud began back when The Rock praised his female co-stars — Charlize Theron, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez — but admitted it was hard working with the guys.
"My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story,” he wrote.
"Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken s—t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses [sic]."
